After months of speculation principals in the sale of Glimpses of Guam Inc. have confirmed the sale of the advertising and publishing company parent company to Glimpses Advertising and Glimpses Publications.

Newly formed Glimpses of Saipan has purchased the company.

Speaking for the new ownership Marcos W. Fong managing director of Glimpses and Subway Investments Corp. told the Journal in a Nov. 30 interview “This was a very logical fit that fell into place. Joe never needed to sell; we never needed to buy. The sale offers synergy with our current group [Foremost Foods Coca Cola Beverage Co. Micronesia and Subway].”

Johnnie Fong management member at the new company said “Our group more particularly Marcos is honored to have been chosen by Joe to be his successor and continue building upon the legacy he created. Glimpses of Guam also supports our group by being the market leader in providing expertise in the fields of marketing promotions and publishing.”

Marcos Fong said the core philosophy of the business would not change. “Glimpses has been operating as it has for close to 30 years; it will continue on the path of what has been working well. Glimpses has a very prestigious group of clients and publications. ” However he said the business would take advantage of new opportunities. “We have plans for future improvements and changes.” Fong stressed these would all be positive.

Both Joe T. Couch chairman and Laling Cruz-Couch executive vice president would be instrumental in the change of ownership Fong said. “We currently are in transition; we are not drawing a fine line. Joe and Laling have offered their help until we are comfortable with the business ” he said.

Joe Couch said “Glimpses of Guam began 31 years ago as Guam’s first full service marketing and publishing firm. Glimpses has a proud tradition of always putting the customer first. Glimpses creatives over the years have develop breakthrough advertising and developed publications no one else had dared to try. Johnnie Fong and his group of companies is a perfect fit to take Glimpses forward. His business philosophy and plans for the future are most exciting and will see significant growth for Glimpses and everyone associated with the organization.”

Fong said no name changes are envisioned nor changes to the management team: Stephen C. Ruder president of Glimpses Advertising Maureen N. Maratita publisher of Glimpses Publications and Dorie B. Abdon production manager.
