Northwest Airlines hosted the 2nd Annual Northwest Airlines Tournament for Children’s Education on April 30 at Starts Golf Resort. Proceeds from the event went to various children’s educational entities on Guam. Each participant paid $100. Hole-in-one prizes included a Nissan Infiniti a Toyota Lexus a Club Car and two Northwest world business class tickets between Guam and the U.S.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Guam in conjunction with DFS Guam a longtime corporate sponsor of Make-A-Wish granted the wish of six young women on April 29 at the DFS Galleria. On April 29 the six were special guests at a VIP meet-and-greet event with international fashion designer Anna Sui who was on Guam to promoter her new fragrance "Dolly Girl on the Beach."

Nanbo Insurance presented a check for $500 to the Boy Scouts of America Chamorro District on April 6.

The Salvation Army was presented with a check for $3 845 from Macy’s Guam on April 6. Macy’s Guam card holders and associates raised the donation as part of their "Giving Back" to the community endeavors through Macy’s Thanks for Sharing Program in 2005.
The Filipino Ladies Association of Guam presented a $1 000 check to the Philippine Consulate General for the Leyte mudslide victims. The donation took place at the Seafood Chef Restaurant on April 3.

TakeCare Insurance Co. Inc. presented a check for $12 500 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation on April 20 at the governor’s office in Adelup. The donation was part of TakeCare’s sponsorship of Make-A-Wish’s annual Kites for Wishes event. The purpose of the event was to raise funds to grant wishes to children with life-threatening conditions.

The Rotary Club of Guam donated $1 700 to the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life on March 28.

Women from Ngiwal donated food items to the Belau National Hospital. The donation included 500 lbs of prak and kukau three boxes of chicken two boxes of lemon and two boxes of Tarot.

Team Palau was presented with $35 000 in donations to help fund the team’s trip to the Micronesian Games. A $25 000 donation came from Shell Palau and President Tommy E. Remengesau Jr. presented the team with a check for $10 000. MBJ
