DENVER – Guam residents and businesses now have another choice for high-quality high-volume four-color offset printing. Grafix Design Media a Colorado-based company owned by Mary Aflague and managed by Gerard Aflague former Guam residents is a fairly new online graphic design and printing company that has grown since it was established almost two years ago.
While many clients are mainland based they found a niche providing affordable high-quality high-volume four color off-set printing and other printed materials to clients in the islands of Micronesia and Guam.
“It was the right fit “” Gerard Aflague said. “”We saw that partnering with a nationwide mega-printer was the only logical thing to do. We were green from the start – using recycled paper and soy-based inks. We knew that we could be competitive with island-based printers and when you add the fact that we ship via the United States Post Office via Priority Mail in many cases for free we just thought that we would be a logical choice for many clients on island.”” In furtherance of their effort to meet their clients expectations they also have partnered with factories in China to source flag banner and hardware material that are priced double and sometimes triple within the United States.
Grafix Design Media could have focused their services and products to clients specifically in Denver Colo. alone where they are based. But they took it as far as the eye could see providing products and services not only nationwide and to all the U.S. Territories including Guam but also to the Northern Mariana Islands the Federated States of Micronesia and Palau. Since the postal service now has flat rate products and considers the FSM and Palau domestic destinations they thought that they could maintain a viable company and establish clients half-way around the world while still being profitable.
They grew the business slowly. Aflague said that they reviewed their strategy and realized that for clients in Guam and the NMI they needed an easy way to communicate and do business. So aside from establishing their online retail site and e-commerce offerings they also added a toll-free number so clients in these islands could contact them to service their needs without them having to pay long-distance rates.
Grafix Design Media hopes to continue to grow and partner with small companies across Micronesia and Guam while providing them what they expect – affordable high-quality high-volume printing material.
