Albert Gurusamy administrator of Health Services of the Pacific and former vice chairman of the Guam Memorial Hospital Authority board of trustees was hired Jan. 15 by Guam Regional Medical City. In his new role as director for ancillary services Gurusamy will be responsible for operations in the new hospital’s radiology pharmacy laboratory and rehabilitation services departments according to Kevin Haws chief operating officer of Guam Regional Medical City.

“Albert’s experience in setting up a very successful health care business here on Guam coupled with his knowledge and experience with regulatory agencies involved in accreditation for hospital-based services will be of great benefit as GRMC prepares to open its doors to patients in the summer of 2014 “” Haws said.

Gurusamy confirmed to the Journal that he has stepped down from the GMHA board of trustees to take the position and said that for the time being he will continue to play a role at Health Services of the Pacific.
