Robin Pontillas manager and one of the owners of Angus Black Prime Steakhouse spoke to the Journal to share some of the restaurant’s uniqueness. The steakhouse specializes in American and international cuisine and opened on July 5.

Angus Black is located in the Harmon Loop Hotel across the Harmon McDonald’s.

The steakhouse is open for lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. from Monday through Sunday where it offers a buffet with international cuisine items that vary from honey walnut shrimp honey barbecue ribs lechon kawali roast chicken basa filet and more for $10.

For dinner the restaurant is open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday with a la carte items with prices ranging from $12 and up.

Signature dishes include the peppercorn steak which is a charbroiled choice 10 ounce New York strip finished in a sauce of black peppercorns; the Angus Black Signature New York steak which is a choice 10 ounce New York Strip finished with a signature sauce and the honey glazed barbecue ribs.

The steakhouse currently has nine employees who each consider Angus Black a “homegrown steakhouse.””

Pontillas got his start in the business working as a chef and manager of Merloj. “”Cooking has always been a passion of mine and I always wanted a restaurant of my own “” he said. “”An opportunity came about and we went for it.””
