On Aug. 13, Triple J Ford renewed a two-year agreement to sponsor the Guam National Youth Football Federation. The agreement will extend through the 2015 season. Triple J also presented the league with a galvanized steel utility trailer for assistance in the logistical management of the football games.
J&G Distributors raised funds to benefit local charities at its 2nd Annual Special K “Fits My Lifestyle” 5K Run held July 19 in Tumon. The Edward M. Calvo Cancer Foundation, Catholic Social Services, and the Father David I.A. Quitugua Foundation will each receive a donation of $3,000.
Atkins Kroll Toyota donated $1,914 in July as part of the company’s “Here for Guam. Here for Life”program. Guam Cancer Care received $831, Make-A-Wish Foundation received $578 and KamaletKaridat received $505.
First Hawaiian Bank established the Aloha for Puna fund to assist residents in the Puna region with relief and recovery efforts following Tropical Storm Iselle on Aug. 8. The bank contributed the first $25,000. Monetary donations are being accepted at all First Hawaiian Bank branches. All contributions to the fund will be donated to the Hawaii Island United Way.
The Ysrael Athletic Field was presented to the student body of Notre Dame High School in Talofofo on Aug. 19. Other donors to the project are Duenas Camacho & Associates; Hawaiian Rock Products and the Camacho Family Partnership.
Docomo Pacific CNMI hosted the 5th Docomo Pacific Golf Classic on Aug. 30 at the Lao Lao Bay Golf & Resort in aid of the Marianas Tourism Education Council. Sponsors of the tournament included First Hawaiian Bank, DFS Saipan Ltd., the Tan Siu Lin Foundation, Calvo’s Select Care, the Marianas Visitors Authority, Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan, Marianas Pacific Distributors Inc., Pacific Islands Club Saipan, Pacific Trading Co., Hyatt Regency Saipan, Delta Air Lines, Marianas Management Corp., Bank of Hawaii, Joeten Motors, Pacifica Insurance, Triple J Motors, Dickerson & Quinn, Kautz Glass, Aqua Resort Club and Island Training.
The Hotel Association of the Northern Mariana Islands donated $1,000 on Aug. 28 to the Pet Assistance & Welfare Services to assist in its mission of caring for stray dogs and cats.
Steven Brownstein, The Background Investigator, has donated $5,000 to the Saipan Chamber of Commerce for the 2014 Chamber Golf Classic. Proceeds of the tournament will go toward the chamber’s education/scholarship fund, monthly training seminars and other chamber programs that directly benefit the business community of Saipan. The golf tournament will be held at LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort on Oct. 11.
