SANTA RITA, Guam — A ribbon cutting to open 60 revitalized housing units at Lockwood Terrace Phase I on U.S. Naval Base Guam is scheduled for Oct. 1.

The project contract, which was awarded to Black Construction Corp. on Sept. 11, 2013, with an expected completion date of Sept. 12, 2015, has a contract value of $25.3 million. The housing units will achieve the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design rating of Silver under the U.S. Green Building Council requirements.

Capt. Alfred “Andy” D. Anderson, U.S. Naval Base Guam commanding officer; Capt. Glenn A. Shephard, Naval Facilities Engineering Command Marianas commanding officer; and a representative from Tutor Perini-Black Construction Corp. are expected to give remarks.
