WASHINGTON, D.C. — Brig. Gen. Douglas A. Cox, incoming commander of the 36th Wing at Andersen Air Force Base in Guam will come to the island from his post as director of U.S. Air Forces in Europe-United Kingdom.

Cox is no stranger to Guam, having brief prior service as vice commander at Andersen in 2009.

He is presently stationed at the Royal Air Force Base in Mildenhall in Suffolk in England, according to a Feb. 12 release from the U.S. Department of Defense.

The outgoing commander, Brig. Gen. Andrew J. Toth, is reassigned to the 9th Air Expeditionary Task Force, Air Combat Command at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina as assistant vice commander.
