TAMUNING, Guam — The A.B. Won Pat International Airport Authority, Guam unveiled a new passenger loading bridge at Gate 21 on April 20. The previous gate had been severely damaged in 2002 by Typhoon Pongsona. The loading bridge was utilized for a few years thereafter despite damages, until continued corrosion and further deterioration rendered it unusable. The airport authority invested $855,495 in replacing it in 2015.
JBT Corp. is the main contractor for the loading bridge, and United Airlines serves as the maintenance contractor. The airport authority plans to eventually replace all of the passenger loading bridges over the next several years.
