TAMUNING, Guam — Guam welcomed 122,749 visitors in June, a 3.7% increase compared to the previous year and the best June in Guam’s tourism history.

                 Daily arrivals showed increases in visitor arrivals in the days leading up to music events, including the fourth annual Guam Live International Music Festival and the fifth annual Electric Island Festival.

                 Visitors from Korea recorded a 19.4% increase, while there was a 105.5% increase in visitors from Hong Kong over the previous year. Arrival numbers from Taiwan and Hong Kong are expected to decrease with the suspension of flights from HK Express and Eva Air in June, according to a release by the Guam Visitors Bureau.

                 Fiscal year-to-date arrivals also increased by 5% and total calendar year-to-date arrivals increased by 4.2%. (See Data Bank on Page 30 for the latest regional arrivals statistics.)
