United makes Micronesia schedule changes
            United Airlines in a June 8 schedule update revised operational routing for Saturday-Sunday service to Pohnpei and Chuuk. The carrier will be operating Guam – Pophnei – Chuuk – Guam triangle routing, instead of Guam – Chuuk – Pohnpei routing, on board Boeing 737-700 aircraft. The Saturday-Sunday service is scheduled to operate on 27JUN20, 11JUL20 and 01AUG20.

            During the interim schedule until 02AUG20, United operates Full Island Hopper Guam – Chuuk – Pohnpei – Kosrae – Kwajalein – Majuro – Honolulu routing on the following dates: 17-18JUN20 and 22-23JUL20.

 

Military eases travel; Guam not on list
            The U.S. military followed an earlier release with the news on June 8 that travel restrictions for its personnel have been eased in the following locations:
Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington, West Virginia, Wyoming
Host Nations: Bahrain, Belgium, Germany, Japan, United Kingdom

 

United passenger tests positive
            Another traveler into the NMI tested positive in quarantine, taking the overall number to 28 cases. The 34-year old male arrived in Saipan on June 8 from Guam, though his original destination was not given in a June 8 release.
            Distribution of food will continue this week at two sites in Guam, with village COVID testing continuing also. Some 12,00 USDA food bags will be distributed in total.

 

Thousands register for Guam unemployment payouts
            As of midnight, the Guam Department of Labor had received14,494 applications, DOL told the Journal.
DOL and the Guam Department of Administration are finalizing payment process. While DOL did not have an exact number, Hannah Cho, special projects coordinator said, “We are getting a large number of individuals requesting in-person appointments.”

 

Get working on the bod
            Guam gyms and fitness centers opened June 8, as well as food courts in the island’s malls. Little public notice was given, with a release June 6.

 

Guam Democrats vote for Biden
            Guam Democrats largely voted for former Vice President Joseph Biden, who received 270 votes or 70% of the vote. Traveling to the national convention in August, according to a June 8 release will be:
            Biden Delegates: Catherine “Cathy” SN Flores, Speaker Tina Rose Muña-Barnes, Sen. Régine Biscoe Lee, Michael D. Weakley, Clifford Guzman with Beverly Ann L. Borja as Alternate.
            Also traveling will be Sanders Delegates Julian Janssen, and Rikki Orsini with Antonio Azios as Alternate.
