The Guam Association of Realtors hosted a Meet and Greet for visitors from the National Association of Realtors on Sept. 19 at the Hyatt Regency Guam. They said Guam — like many other parts of the United States — is experiencing an increased cost in housing, which is pricing many people out of home ownership. The National Association of Realtors is working in Washington D.C. with national leaders on policies that would impact costs of purchasing or constructing a home. Also, issues like climate change are impacting coastal areas throughout the west coast of the U.S., Hawaii and Guam. While on Guam, the trio also met with Gov. Lourdes A. Leon Guerrero and among other topics, discussed programs that help first-time homeowners purchase homes.
