Thirteen small businesses were awarded $325,000 in incubator grants through the Guam Unique Merchandise and Art program.
The Guam Economic Development Authority’s Growth Accelerator Program administers GUMA, which includes 16 weeks of training and mentoring for entrepreneurs. Upon completion, participants qualify to apply for grant funding.
A ceremony was held at Adelup where Gov. Lourdes A. Leon Guerrero said the small business program creates job opportunities and fosters economic growth.
Ranging from mobile automotive repair to agriculture and digital services to apparel, the funding provided will purchase much needed equipment and hardware to expand their businesses. mbj
