Professionals sharpen leadership skills with Dale Carnegie
As Guam companies continue to navigate a challenging employment landscape, many are turning to leadership and communication training to strengthen teams and support long-term growth. Dale Carnegie Training, a global leader in leadership development, was on island in late April with a series of in-person workshops aimed at helping professionals develop and sharpen essential skills.
The signature three-day Dale Carnegie Course was held May 1 to 3 at the Hyatt Regency Guam and led by Jan Kaeo, president of account development at Dale Carnegie Training Hawaii & Guam. The course was attended by a cohort of 10 participants in management and leadership roles from industries including automotive, media and advertising, food and beverage, construction and real estate.
The program focused on building confidence, improving communication, and enhancing interpersonal skills to create more effective leaders — all essential traits in today’s ever-changing work environment.
“This course meets you where you are and could get you to a breakthrough point, both personally and professionally,” said Thomas Quiogue, general sales manager at Nissan Motor Corp. in Guam. He said the course covers what could otherwise take years of on-the-job learning or trial and error.

Dominique Rose Felix, vice president and associate broker-in-charge for Century 21 Realty Management, said the experience was both personal and professional.
