Charles Takao Domnick passed away in Majuro at the age of 83.

Domnick was a longtime business executive who also served in the government of the Marshall Islands.

He founded Pacific Shipping Inc. in 2009, which was incorporated in 2012, and Anil Development Inc., which does business as DAR Sales & Services. Pacific Shipping is the shipping agent for Pacific International Lines and Mariana Express Lines PTE Ltd, among others. DAR Sales & Services is the retail arm of the group.

Domnick also served as a senator, minister of finance, minister of foreign affairs, U.N. representative of the Marshall Islands and as a congressman during the Trust Territory years. He also served as chairman of the Marshalls Maritime Authority.

He was also the longtime honorary consul of Israel to the Marshall Islands. The consulate opened in 2005. Domnick saw family members included in the management team of the group, and his son Francis Carlos Domnick is CEO. For some years, Domnick remained active as managing director of Anil Construction. mbj
