AdaWilliam A. Ada has been appointed president of South Pacific Petroleum Corp. He was previously executive vice president at SPPC and formerly executive director of operations at IP&E Holdings LLC, and held other management positions at IP&E.
Ada has more than 20 years of experience in the petroleum industry.
He also has taught in the private school system in Guam and has extensive experience in retail and property management. He holds a 1999 bachelors of business administration from the University of Portland in Portland, Ore.
ShibahataYoshihito Shibahata has been appointed general manager of the RIHGA Royal Laguna Guam Resort.
He previously was assistant general manager at the property, and formerly was the general manager of the Hotel Indigo Palau.
Shibahata’s prior appointments in the islands include general manager of the Pacific Islands Club Saipan.
He began his career in hospitality as a management trainee at the Waldorf Astoria and Towers in New York in 1988. His first appointment in the islands was as director of rooms at the Hyatt Regency Guam in 2000.
BurrierGuam Plaza Resort has announced the appointment of Maria “Tes” Reyes Burrier as executive assistant to the owner.
She formerly was the advancement associate in the Office of the President at the University of Guam and prior to that was the public information officer for the Guam Department of Education.
Reyes Burrier formerly was the food and beverage director of Lotte Hotel Guam, and prior to that was the sales and marketing manager at Lotte. She was the longtime assistant general manager and marketing director of the Agana Shopping Center and also held various appointments in the visitor and hospitality industry in Guam, to include as the marketing manager for United Airlines for Guam and Micronesia.
Reyes Burrier has also taught as an adjunct instructor at Guam Community College and holds a bachelor’s in public relations from Santa Isabel College in Manila.
BlasJenna Blas has been appointed public information officer for the Guam Visitors Bureau.
She formerly was the longtime public information officer at the Guam Civil Defense and Office of Homeland Security for 12 years.
ReyesLogan Reyes is acting public information officer at the Guam Civil Defense and Office of Homeland Security. He previously served in the office of the Governor of Guam from 2021 as principal investigator at the Office of Infrastructure Policy & Development and prior to that as digital engagement manager.
Zosimo L. Espejo was selected as the Pay-Less Markets Inc. Employee of the Year.
EspejoHe joined Pay-Less in April 2011 as an electrician and was later promoted to maintenance supervisor. In addition, Espejo plays a key role in ensuring that resources, equipment and infrastructure for daily operations are functioning across all locations.
Guam Regional Medical City announced that Jaena Josef, registered nurse of the GRMC Cancer Center, was selected as the recipient of the 2026 DAISY Award.
JosefJosef was selected from 58 nominees based on multiple nominations submitted by co-workers and patients.
FHP Health Center announced that its digital mammography program successfully passed its annual inspection by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, maintaining full compliance with the Mammography Quality Standards Act.
FHP first passed its inspection in 1999.
The Todu Guam Foundation recognized its chief financial officer and consultant Zeny Asuncion-Nace with the Todu Guam Foundation “HERO” Award.
Nace, who is a certified public accountant, received the award after the foundation accomplished three consecutive years of clean financial audits, which it said positioned the foundation to secure federal and local grant support.

The Guam Air National Guard’s new squadron, the 293rd Combat Communications “Gåmson” Squadron, reached a major milestone by passing its first comprehensive readiness evaluation, known as an Initial Operating Capability inspection.
