As recovery efforts begin post Super Typhoon Bavi, telecom providers across the region have been conducting assessments to restore mobile and internet services and perform infrastructure repairs.
Docomo Pacific: As of Tuesday, July 7 engineering and field crews were deployed across Guam and the CNMI to evaluate damage, prioritize restoration efforts, and begin repairs. All service disconnections have been suspended to ensure customers are informed of network updates. Mobile services on Saipan have been restored and are currently available in the following areas: Gualo Rai BECQ, Torres Building, DSebastian Building, Kensington Hotel, Afetna Supermarket, Thunder Chicken, Lower Base, Saipan International Airport, RJ Plaza, and all surrounding areas.
Mobile services on Tinian are now available at the Tinian Airport, Marpo Village, and surrounding areas.
GTA: As of 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, crews have been dispatched to assess networks and restore equipment, repairing generators at several village stations beginning with southern Guam with other villages followed.
IT&E: As of Monday, IT&E technical teams have been assessing networks and deploying to energize affected sites in Guam and the CNMI. Data limits have been lifted to aid customers with typhoon recovery for all postpaid customers. mbj
