SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico and BARRIGADA, Guam — In Guam, 2024 is designated as the Year of the Veteran. But despite the respect paid to those who have served their country, veteran care in the islands continues to fall short.

Rear Adm. Gregory C. Huffman said that “2024 is going to be a very exceptional year. There are a lot of changes happening …All of those are going to result in an increase in the progress that we’re going to make for setting the posture the right way.”

Guam Business Magazine announced February 21, 2024, that it is donating $20,000 to four non-profits in Guam and Saipan.

Former Gov. Carl Gutierrez, president and CEO of the  Guam Visitors Bureau, led a team to Palau to meet with President Surangel S. Whipps, Jr. and tourism officials to discuss opportunities to partner together to promote tourism in Palau and Guam. 

Some business owners are supporting the bill that would allow certain businesses to sell alcoholic beverages until 4 a.m. 

The islands of Micronesia continue to attract top military personnel who want to form their own impressions and understanding by visiting.
