DEDEDO, Guam — LinFei Yu, nurse practitioner at the Guam Regional Medical City, has earned the Cardiac-Vascular Nurse Practitioner Level IV Clinical Board Certification.
The national credential recognizes advanced clinical knowledge, extensive experience, and a commitment to providing high-quality care for patients with heart and blood vessel conditions.
Cardiovascular disease remains one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in Guam and throughout the Pacific region. Yu works within the cardiovascular care team to evaluate patients, assist in diagnosis and treatment planning, monitor cardiovascular health, and educate patients on disease prevention.
The certification strengthens local healthcare capacity, allowing patients to access specialized cardiac evaluations and chronic illness management for hypertension, heart disease, and vascular disorders without the need of traveling off-island. Edison Manaloto, chief medical officer at GRMC, said the achievement ensures the continuity of advanced clinical care close to home. "Her advanced certification ensures that our patients continue to receive highly specialized, compassionate care close to home," Manaloto said.
Yu said that her passion for patient outcomes motivates her ongoing professional training. "Caring for patients and helping them improve their heart health is incredibly meaningful to me," adding that the certification represents a commitment to learning and providing the best possible care for the community. mbj
