“Of the award amount, 20% ($58 million) has been expended, which includes Contractual services totaling $13 million, such as air-conditioning maintenance ($3 million), custodial services ($1.8 million), pest control ($419,000), and a fire alarm system ($174,000); supplies totaling $4.2 million, such as instructional ($628,000), carpentry ($375,000), plumbing ($324,000), and electrical supplies ($245,000); and equipment totaling $1.8 million, such as nurse ($369,000), library ($132,000), and electrical equipment ($24,000).
As of August 2024, 15% ($44 million) remains unspent.”

GDOE submitted a final request on Sept. 13 to amend a spending plan for the unspent funds which it has until March 31, 2026 to spend. Most of the funds will be obligated for refurbishing several schools.
